Technology
As hospitals and healthcare organizations pursue an infinite need for Information Technology (IT) with finite resources available, IT Governance is needed more than ever before. For example, without IT Governance, many healthcare organizations are struggling to meet their mission requirements due to late, over-budget projects, and ultimately many disparate systems supporting an Electronic Health Record (EHR) do not function well together.
Portfolio
We believe organizations need to uncover and leverage every detail of their complex inventory and availability of information, including non-transactional information that otherwise can be very valuable but often remains dormant. For example, the Healthcare industry is experiencing dramatic reform and change. Improvements in business and clinical outcomes are expected as a result of optimizing the use of IT. And to do so, those responsible for executing the necessary changes, need to be able to inventory and manage components to include tools, resources, and access to best practices.
Exchange
Optimization
Just because the wires are plugged in to transfer data, doesn't mean the data is flowing, as it should. This is becoming more apparent as hospitals approach the second stage of Meaningful Use. One of their greatest challenges will be the health information exchange and related transitions-of-care requirements. In Stage 2, providers will have to go beyond testing and actually exchange the information. Thus data exchange optimization scrutinizes the flow of information throughout the organization seeking data bottlenecks, ease of accessibility, transmission timeliness, the secure nature of the data, and evaluate the integrity of the data.
